“We find our clients are attracted to working with a family business like ours, because it represents a plan for the future.”
Paul Gullickson is the founder of the Gullickson Group, the Davenport-based boutique firm he operates in partnership with his two sons. Over the course of his career, Paul has developed expertise in sophisticated business succession and estate planning strategies. He has also presented to industry groups on the topic of premium financing and other advanced insurance planning techniques.
Paul started his career at the Connecticut Mutual Insurance Company (currently MassMutual) upon graduating from Augustana College in 1972. He soon established a thriving practice serving individuals and families. As he gained experience, he was asked to step into a management role. He spent close to a decade hiring, training and leading teams of financial professionals. He eventually left management to focus his energies exclusively on the Gullickson Group.
Over the years, Paul has stayed current in the field by attending conferences and investing in his education. He has earned the Accredited Estate Planner (AEP), Masters in Financial Services (MSFS), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) designations. He is also a member of the Quad City Estate Planning Council.
Paul attributes his success to hard work, dedication, and a strong independent streak qualities he shares with many of his entrepreneurial clients. He takes great pride in the fact that his sons will continue his legacy by serving the clients who have come to rely on the Gullickson Group for business and personal financial advice. He hopes that one day several of his grandchildren might also consider entering the practice.
While the business remains a big part of his life, Paul takes time to spend with family and friends. He particularly enjoys visiting with his grandchildren. Paul and his wife, Andrea, are active in their church. They reside in Davenport, Iowa.
